Is there a way to automatically renumber references to figures, tables and photographs while working in WORD?
I prepare documents using WORD that require numerous figures, tables and photographs be inserted throughout the body of the text. I usually prepare the figures and photographs with PowerPoint, so I leave a blank page with the figure or photo reference in the WORD file to mark where the hardcopy of the figure or photo will go. The references to the figure or photos are designated "List" or "List 1" items (as opposed to "Normal") so that I can easily print the "List of Figures" and "List of Photos" separately from the "Table of Contents". Then, when I'm ready to compile the final document, I replace the blank page (prepared in WORD) with the actual figure or photo (prepared in PowerPoint).
It would really help if WORD can automatically renumber the figures, tables and photos, especially when the documents are voluminous and/or have multiple section breaks.
Thanks for your help.
