automatic correction I don't want

This morning, when I type the letter

t

Word automatically corrects this to
't

(that is, apostrophe plus the letter t)

I don't know why this is happening and I checked in autocorrect to see if
there is something there to make this change. There isn't anything noted
there.

What have I done to create this problem and how do I fix the problem?

Thank you

Please disregard this question. I just realized what I did

I was writing in French the word "dont" and Word was autocorrecting it to
"don't"

So I have answered my own question

Note that this would not have happened if you had had the language at the
insertion point set to French, since AutoCorrect files are
language-specific.
