Automatic Calculation

My worksheet keeps changing to a manual calculation. Will someone please
tell me how I can permanently change to automatic. I go to
tools/options/calculation and check automatic but the next workbook I open
is changed back to manual. I am using Excel 2000 on Windows NT.

This isn't something that you can permanently change.

Excel picks it up from the first workbook you open in that session. But if you
change the workbook to automatic, you'll be able to open that first and you'll
be ok.

But if a co-worker changes it back to manual and you're unlucky enough to open
it first, then you'll be mad again.
