Automatic Calculation

For some reason, every time I start Excel the Calculation setting is
Manual, instead of Automatic. How can I change this back to Automatic
so it is the default setting when I start Excel?

in tools--> options --> calculation tab, select automatic
radio button and select okay, it should work.

Excel gets this setting from the first workbook it opens in that session.

If you're unlucky enough to open a workbook that's set to manual first, then
you'll be set to manual.

So remember change the setting and then save that workbook for the next time you
open it first.
