automated word count

Hi,
I'm trying to find out how to get word to post an autmated
word count at the bottom of the page. None of the support
articles have been helpful. I'm using Word 2000.

Kirsten,

You can insert a field code where you want the word count
to display.

First, press Alt F9 to insert field braces. You must use
this because typing them won't work. Put the following
between them:

{NUMWORDS}
