autologon in windows xp does not work

Hi,

I put these settings into the registry for autologon:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

DefaultUserName --> example
DefaultPassword --> example
AutoAdminLogon --> 1

I restart the workstation. One time, the autologon does work. Then the
registry key for AutoAdminLogon is reverted automatically to 0 and the
login window does reappear.

I tried with
ForceAutoLogon --> 1

but it does not work neither.
Additonally the Novell Client 4.83 SP2 is installed.

Has anybody an idea, why the autoadminlogin value is everytime
reverted into 0 ?

Thxs for information.

Possibly a solution (I had the same troubles after performing a
sysprep-operation):

If WindowsXP find AutoLogonCount with value "0" at startup it will reset
AutoAdminLogon to "0".

Look up into \\HKLM\Software\Microsft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon for
a REG_WORD called "AutoLogonCount". If it is present delete it, set your
AutoLogon-Values and try again.

I hope it works,

best regards
