Autofill not working

When a user accesses outlook and types a name in the ‘To’ box, sometimes a
users auto fills into the pane and other times they don’t. Is there a way to
fix this issue?

The AutoSuggest list is a cache. This cache will hold up to a 1000 names
you've typed before and isn't linked to your Contact folder. If you haven't
used that address before it won't be suggested either.

Adding on:

If the user knows that the email address they want is in their address book,
the user can type in a couple letters of the name or address and then select
the "check names" icon (it's to the right of the "send" and "attach" icons...
make sure the email toolbar is enabled). That will bring up a list of names.
The user can select the name he wants, and then that name will be in the
cache for the future.

Sorry. I forwarded the email as it came in to the Help Desk.

Let's say you send email to (e-mail address removed). The next time you create an email
message, once you type the "m" his email address should show in the
autocompletion list. Likewise if you type in "mi" it should narrow the list
down further. What they are seeing is they may send 5 emails to Mike today.
And 3 out of those 5 times they may end up typing in the entire email address
without the autocompletion list ever appearing...As if they have never typed
that email address in before.

Oh, that's easy then. He turned it off. Tools> Options> Preferences> Advanced
E-mail Options. Make sure the check box that says "Suggest names while
completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields" is checked.

For the RECORD, I got that in the Outlook help files... by looking for the
words "auto" and "complete."

Only easy in theory. Never does that turn out to be the cause of this
problem. This is a multiposted message. Answer provided in the other post.

That's not it. We already checked that option.
