autofill in Outlook

Marcia

Hi! When we delete an old profile and have the users logon to create a new
one, their autofill feature is no longer there. In other words, they
complain that they use to be able to start to type the email address and it
would automatically pop in options. now it doesn't. Is this a setting
somewhere, Outlook or elsewhere, that we need to turn on? How can we save
the previous list of rememberances?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a profile specific file that stores the past used addresses. So when
you create a new profile, you'll lose this.

As the users begin to email using the new profile, they will generate a new
file that stores these addresses. the file in question has an extension of
..NK2.

Thaks for replying. Are we able to copy the .nk2 file over to the new
profile?

Yes. With Outlook closed, rename (or delete, if you don't care about the
enteries it contains) the NK2 file whose name matches the current profile
and then rename the NK2 file whose name matches the old profile so that it
matches the new one. Don't simply overwrite the current NK2 file.

FYI there are some neat programs that help you clean the NK2 file since
it can be quite messy if openned up in notepad. I found one called
Owtlook Desktop @ http://www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm.
