Old PC died, reinstalled Office 2003 on new computer. Most things working
except e-mail addresses will not auto fill. Searched for ".nk2" file, nowhere
to be seen. Also "Advanced E-mail options" are check for "suggest names while
completing.." All updates installed. However Autofill does not work.
Suggestion please.

If this is a new install, why would you expect it to work? You must populate
a robust cache before you'll see it working.

Actually have sent about 8 e-mails to the same address yet it does not
"populate" with autofill. Is there a certain number of times that it is used
before it autofills???

No. When you "reinstalled," did you configure a new Outlook profile from
scratch? You must.

Can't remember exactly. Did reinstall office from orginal disks but might
have saved address book from back up..not sure. So if I go back and delete
office with 'add/remove' programs and reinstall office, will this suffice and
in the process will I loose my address book? The other setting I think I'll
copy down on paper so can replicate. Your thoughts?

No. Reinstalling Office will not suffice and is not what I said. Just create
a new profile from scratch with a unique name:

have sent e-mails. Still doesn't work, any other suggestions?

How did you create this new profile? Did you give it a unique name? How did
you enable autocompletion?

I enabled 'auto fill' by tools;options; E-mail options;Advanced E-mail ; and
checked box titled "Suggest names while completing...."
When setting up e-mail account, I started from scratch..add account put in
the mailbox addresses etc (my current e-mail. Had to start from sctratch
since there was nothing there.
I am certainly missing something here since auto fill worked before and I
don't ever remember doing anything special, it just worked. I appreciate your
patience and I would like to continue trying whatever you suggest. Thanks.

Something doesn't fit. What do you mean "there was nothing there" when you
created a new profile? How could there have been no Outlook profile until
now if you were trying to use autocompletion?
