AutoCorrect when Word isn't the email editor

We are running Outlook 2003. There is a checkbox under the Spelling tab
labeled "Use AutoCorrect when Word isn't the email editor". We all have this
checkbox enabled, but our messages never AutoCorrect. To my recollection,
I've never seen this option work on any computer. Is this a known bug? Is
there a way to AutoCorrect in Outlook without using Word as the email editor?

Thanks for your help!

Interesting. Just to verify, you do not have Word enabled as your email editor?

On all of our computers, it will capitalize the first letter of a sentence
if we leave it lowercase. However, it will not correct spelling. For example,
in the spelling dictionary it is supposed to change "yuor" to "your". It does
not correct this misspelling on our computers. Does it on yours?

Yes. I just tried it. All of the autotext seems to work.
