autocorrect|autoformat as you type|parentheses

One or another of the more recent Office Updates seems to
have eliminated one of my favorite features in Word XP:
the ability to type any kind of closing parenthesis,
bracket, curly bracket and have the application
automatically insert the correct one depending on the
kind of opening one you started with: (,[,{
Is this feature really gone, or is it just hidden
somewhere arcane?
 
I never noticed having this feature in Word 97, 2000 or 2002. It would be
nice.
