internet explorer 6 sp2 running on windows xp sp2

Hello,

I am trying to erase autocomplete entries using
internetOptions/Content/Autocomplete/Clear forms. After I click the
button, the cursor turns into the well know clock, but the process never
ends. Actually I think that the program hangs, because it takes so long that
I keep working on other applications meanwhile, but when I come back to
explorer its windows shows no content, they are all white inside. I have
done this before without problems, so I don't know what could be happening.

Anybody knows where the form entries are stored so that I delete them
manually?

Thanks,

GS

If AutoComplete doesn't clear:

Courtesy of Don MVP IE/OE

"You probably have a damaged registry key.

Try this:
With no programs open,
Run REGEDIT and make your way to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft Internet Explorer
IntelliForms
SPW
Export that key (Registry> Export- just in case you wish to undo the
change) then delete it- just the SPW key.
Restart the computer."

Hi,

I was going to erase the key, but noticed that on all the dwords the value
names looked encripted. Therefore I googled for SPW and apparently these
are just the passwords, which I don't want to erase. I just want to erase
form entries.

Any other Ideas?

Thanks,

GS

Hi,
You might try running Protected Storage PassView v1.62- NirSoft:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html before deleting that SPW key- if
you
decide to delete it. It may not seem logical to delete the SPW key, and it
won't always work, but it's been reported to help with your problem.

There are some other possible solutions at

Hope this helps,
