Autocomplete: can't I change my mind?

I accidentally hit Enter when I was prompted if I wanted to save the password
to the site I was logging into. I thought Enter would be Yes, but Enter was
the default No. I did want to save the password on that site but now I can't
get IE to prompt me again about saving it. I tried unchecking the "prompt me
to save passwords" box in the auto complete settings and then rechecking it,
but no luck. I don't want to clear all my passwords or forms that
autocomplete has saved and start over, there must be another way?
HELP, very frustrating!

The book "Windows XP Inside Out" second edition has a multi-page section on
Autocomplete. I am not going to type it here, you can go to the library
and/or buy the book.

Hi,

Try this from Robert Aldwinckle:
This *sometimes* works. Delete the Cookie associated with that page.
Then using AutoComplete for that userid delete that userid.
You will get a message to the effect that you would be deleting a userid
and password combination. This is good. Allow that. Now re-enter
your userid and password. Sign on. At this point you will again be given
the choice to save the password. One further wrinkle in this scenario
which I have seen is that the next time you try to use the "saved" password
you may not see any asterisks. Ignore that and pretend that you do see
the asterisks and assume that the password will be presented properly.
Try to logon. I'm not sure if eventually you do see the asterisks or not.

Or this (from me)
Clearing all passwords should work to reset the "Save Password" option for
that site. IE> Tools> Options> Content> Autocomplete> Clear Passwords.

Protected Storage PassView from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pspv.html will
help you recover other cached passwords *before* you clear all passwords.

Note that some secure sites, such as banks, don't allow passwords to be
saved.
