Go to http://jay-freedman.info and download the AutoTextDumper template.
Unzip the file into your User Templates folder, and use File > New to base a
document on it. The document contains the rest of the instructions.

Oops, sorry, I was thinking of the other one, AutoTextLoader. The
AutoTextDumper just has a floating toolbar that runs the macro. Click the
button on the toolbar, choose a template (Normal.dot is the default), and
click OK. It will create a document containing your autotext, and then open
the File > Save dialog.

Sorry for bothering you but it seems that this macro cannot run because is
disabled!
Would you know another way of doing this?

First, make sure the template AutoTextDumper.dot is stored in your User
Templates folder (the location is show in the Tools > Options > File
Locations dialog).

Then go to Tools > Macro > Security. On the Trusted Sources tab of the
dialog, check the box for "Trust all installed add-ins and templates" and
click OK. In this phrase, "installed" means "located in the User Templates
folder".

Then use File > New to make a document based on the template.

Thanks it worked now but when i run the macro WORD stops responding!!!! It
seems i won't get over with it!!!!! Does it run on your computer?

Thanks! I restarted the computer and eventually worked. HOW CAN I NOW EDIT
THE FILE AND LOAD IT BACK TO THE NORMAL.DOT? Any idea?

Well, the other piece is the AutoTextLoader template from the same web page.
Again, unzip it into your User Templates folder and use File > New to make a
document based on it. Now that you have your macro permissions set properly,
that shouldn't bother you again.

This time, the directions really are in the page you'll see in Word. The
table you see there is just a sample and will not be included in the
autotext entries you'll load. When you click the button on the floating
toolbar, the macro will ask for the name of the document -- tell it to use
the one you saved from AutoTextDumper and edited. It also asks for the
template to save the autotext in -- that can be Normal.dot (overwrite the
existing entries) or another template.
