Auto System Shutdown

Almost everytime I connect to the Internet my computer becomes unstable and gives me a message that it will restart the computer automatically in one minute. It also says that the error was with a file located in WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe and that the shut down was initiated by NT\AUTHORITY, or something like that. The status code is 1073741819, whatever that means. I just recently upgraded to XP from ME and don't understand this o/s totally yet. Most of the time my computer doesn't even connect to the internet because of the instability of dial-up. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
