Isn't there a way to toggle the autosignature?

For people in the office, a simple "Thanks, Eric" will do.

For people outside the company, maybe I want to choose. Can Outlook be made
to ask which signature, if any, that I want?

Thanks,

Eric in FL

autosig was not used in the above example :)

Set the default sig to NONE, then set up several signatures or boilerplate
text and use the Insert Signature command.

OK - I was looking for that yesterday. Under insert, I have autotext,
signatures, then I can choose which one. Is there a way to remove a step on
the menus, - like having the option of 'insert' show signatures immediately
afterwards, and not have the "autotext" option. Kind of an extra step as I
see it.

Keep a default signature. When you compose a new message or reply/forward -
right click on the default signature - there you can choose from existing.
Don't forget to create as many signatures you want to choose
