We are the ones in the haze.
You must provide a more accurate account of your version for anyone to
answer you. Outlook 2000 come in two completely different mail support
modes. Which are you using? If you don't know, look at line 2 of Help |
About.

sorry for incomplete info.
The Help|About window says Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.3821)
hope that info helps..

thank you for your reply

thts very fine, but how did u manage to do it...?

my comment was directed at 'DL', not you but sometimes these threads
can be hard to follow.

Outlook has two modes...internet mail only (IMO) and
Corporate-Workgroup. each has unique tool bars and options. your
installation appears to be set to Corporate-Workgroup, a mode with
which I have no experience. i have mine configured to IMO. Russ
should be able to help you now that you've told us yours is configured
as Corporate-Workgroup.

As far as I can tell, OL 2000 in C/W mode doesn't allow that to be set
through the UI.

Its an often quoted, by MS and MVP's
It can cause resource problems, and since email is not an instantaneous
communication media it makes little sense.

Sorry. I must have missed your reply.

It will take a while for me to find a version that old.
The Internet Mail Enhancement patch placed an Internet Mail Tab in Tools >
Options which lets you set up automatic polling.

I checked.
I was right.
The options are right where I said they were. If you do not have them, then
you are not using Internet Mail, in which case what is your question? Why
are you trying to set up automatic poling if you are not using Internet
Mail?
