Auto-save in Word--set up by user or by computer on network?

We use Word 2007 on a network. Does the auto-save option need to be set up
for each user or just once on each computer?
 
I don't know for sure but would imagine that if Word is installed separately
onto each computer then you should to be sure, check each computer
individually to make sure it is auto saving your work.
