I'm using Outlookk 2003. Its an exchange server. With 2
profiles/mailboxes/e-mail addresses. I want to auto reply to mails that come
in to 1 of the mailboxes. How do I do that?

Create a rule to reply to the emails coming to the account. You will need to
create an email template first with your reply and then link to it in your
rule.

This will work for any type of server. As you are using Exchange there may
be a slicker way, such as auto-reply, but I am not familiar with Exchange.

I tried that. I selected the rule in Step 1 that says when mail arrives with
specific words in the recipient's address.. but it does not seem to work. I
already linked it to a template.

You must use the "have server reply" rule action. Furthermore, to create the rule, you must be running Outlook with a mail profile that connects directly to the mailbox in question, not your own mailbox.

THanks Sue, but how do I check if the mail profile is connected directly to
the mailbox in question? If its not, how can I do this?

Look in the mail applet in Control Panel. That's where you can see the settings for all your mail profiles and create new ones. The primary mailbox that you are connected to is the one on the main page of the properties for the Exchange account.,
