I would like to be able to reboot a windows 2000 server over a weekend, does
anyone have any ideas how I go about doing this?

Many thanks,

Graham.

Use the Task Scheduler to invoke shutdown.exe (Win2000 Resource Kit).

We dont have the Win2000 Resource Kit, is there any other way this could be
done?

Once or repeatedly? If you are only doing it once, you can use Remote
Desktop to connect and restart from there.

Hi,

You can download the Windows Server 2003 resource kit from Microsoft
which contains all the tools such as robocopy and shutdown.

Kris

Are you sure, Kris? You usually have to pay for the Resource Kits..

Cheers,

Cliff

The Windows 2000 tools are here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/default.asp

Although it's not a "kit," per se, there are quite a few useful tools. Note
that the shutdown tool is NOT there :(

Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools includes the robocopy.exe Utility.
As for shutdown.exe, it is included in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
operation system. You can just copy it from the system32 folder on another
computer.
