Auto reboot after standby

Martin

For no apparent reason, a friend's computer more often than not reboots
itself some time after emerging from standby. It happens on, say,
dialling up or on checking e-mails or on opening a program eg Word or during
typing. If she does not go into standby i.e. shuts down after use, the
computer does not reboot during use.

RAM is 256MB. The computer has the HAL speech synthesising program
running, which does use a fair bit of resources. I have in the past
turned off services that seem unnecessary as well as screensavers etc.

Grateful for any advice.

Thanks David

Is there a file with the Event Viewer information that I can get her to send
to me and which I could view in a text viewer?
