Auto populating text in WORD

I have a form that I use at work on a regular basis. In several places I
have to enter the same text. Is there a command that I can set up so when I
put a date in one place it will populate everywhere else it needs to be?

I'm just going to give you the top-level description and hope that you'll be
able to get the detailed steps from the built-in Help. There are three ways
that I'd like to suggest.

1. Create a bookmark around the first instance of the date. In subsequent
instances, insert a REF field to refer to that bookmark.

2. Create a specific character style and apply it to the first instance of
the date. In subsequent instances, insert a STYLEREF field to refer to the
latest (the first) material styled that way (the date).

3. Use a built-in document property or create a custom document property
that you fill in using File > Properties. For every instance of the date,
insert a DOCPROPERTY field.

I prefer method 3.
