auto number

Can any one tell me how to give autonumbering i want to use to create invoices
Example Invoice No. 1, 2, 3,4,5,6............... so on only i have to change
some data like suppliers information that also i want to select from our
suppliers sheet how to do that?

I use simple format for invoicing which shows supplier adrress that too is
it possible to extract from different excel file and invoice number which
should be auto and unique how can i maintain all this records like invoice
1,2,3,4,5,6 to maintain database i dont have much knowledge in msaccess
