When I left Drag and Drop a Contact to my Tasks shortcut it opens a task
window with the contacts name automatically enter into the bottom contacts
box which means that this task will now show up under contacts activities
tab, BUT when I do the same thing to the Calendar the Appointment window
appears but contacts name is not auto entered into bottom contacts box.
Unless I enter it manually this appt. will not show in contacts activities
tab. WHY??? Can this be corrected and solve this big nuisance.

Known nuisance. Did you try using the Actions | New Appointment with Contact command instead?

No. I much prefer the drag, but apparently no choice. Using the menu does
correct problem. Is there no workaround or fix?

YOu already have the workaround in hand.

Your solution then omits the contacts name in the Subject line therefore
omitting the name of the contact when viewing the appointment on the
calendar. I would like to see the contact name on the calendar as well as
have the contact line filled in on the appointment form. The end result -
view contact name on calendar and have the appointment logged in the contact
"activities" tab. Is there such a solution?

Thank you.

There is no built-in setting to do this. Are you up to writing some VBA code?
