auto-generate cross references

I use Office 2003. Someone has sent me a large document with a table of
contents and each entry is a cross reference to the correct page. Is this
automatic of Table of Contents?

I would also like to turn every occurrence of text that is identical to a
ToC entry into a Cross Reference. Is there any way to do this automatically,
either a setting or a text style I could use?

For example, if the ToC was:
My Section.............................1
My SubSection.....................1
Topic A............................1
Topic B.............................2
Topic C.............................3

I want those to be cross references. But then, if a paragraph of text
somewhere in the document said:
".... and if you consider Topic B as a good method of...."

The words "Topic B" would also be a cross reference the same as in the ToC.

You will need to create (and hyperlink, if desired) your cross-references
manually, using Insert | Reference | Cross-reference. Select the heading you
want to cross-reference and check the box for "Insert as hyperlink."
