Auto Format Telephone Number in Outlook

Michael

I'm using Outlook 2003 on 2 computers. On one you can
type in the 7 digits of a phone number in the contact and
it will automatically add the parenthesis and dash to
format the number. On the other it won't. I can't find
the setting to turn this on and off.

No such setting.
Masking is automatic once you set a dialing location correctly.

Russ, is there anyway to allow for the internationaly recognised gsm
international dial '+' symbol to be allowed or recognised by Outlook 2003?

basically I have all of my numbers in my mobile as +-61-XXX-XXXX so that
when i am overseas the gsm carrier automatically recognises the + to dial
international.

Because I am now synching with my desktop it no longer allows me to 'power
dial' from Outlook because it fails when it see's the '+' symbol.

To be honest I feel that the 'power dialling' capabilities of Outlook could
be improved greatly.

Cheers,
Dean

What fails? Outlook does not do the dialing. It uses the Windows dialer
which can accommodate international format as long as your dialing rules are
set correctly.
