I have a student grade sheet in excel, I use an auto
filter to get the specific category i want to see,
however, my student data starts in row 6, but the auto
filter drop down list is in row 1; so if I filter the
list for a specific class, the information in rows 2-5
disappears.

Is there a way that I can move the auto filter drop down
menu to row 5, so that it will still show the information
in rows 1-5 once I apply an auto filter?

I have talk to several of my fellow faculty members in
the Computer Sciences Division but they couldn't help me.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Before doing you're autofilter, highlight your data beginning at row 5 (one
way: click A5, then hit Ctrl+Shift+End). Then go to Data|Filter|Autofilter
(or Alt+F F) as normal. This will ensure only the autofilter will be place
in row 5.
