AUTO FILL DOES NOT WORK ON PREVIOUS EXCEL WORKBOOKS

WHEN I OPEN A WORKBOOK THAT WAS CREATED WITH A PREVIOUS VERSION OF EXCEL
(PREVIOUS TO 2003), A COLUMN THAT I USE AS A DATE COLUMN DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO
USE THE FILL OPTION. THE 2002 VERSION DID ALLOW IT. WHAT HAPPENED ? DID
UNCLE BILL PULL A FOOLIE?
