Auto expand row size

Is there any way to autosize a row if the row consists of merged cells? I have created a workbook where some rows are narrative that expands the width of the page, however, I need the columns for various input and calculations. I would like to be able to format the rows that have merged cells so they will automatically expand

Alternatively, is there any way to nest a table within a cell? This would allow me to set the column to the page width and use "autofit" to expand the narrative rows

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
