My xp proffesional auto signs me into one of my e-mail
addys when I go online. How do I cancel this?

Hi, Allen.

Maybe you've checked "When starting, go directly to my Inbox folder". It's
the very first box under Tools | Options... in Outlook Express.

Or you may be using Outlook (not Express). I don't know much about Outlook,
but I'm sure someone here does. And there are other newsgroups specifically
for Office and Outlook.

First you could wait more than six minutes before crying for help
again. Impatience is usually NOT rewarded here.

.RC, firstly allow me to apologise for the breach of
protocol. This was due to ignorance on my part and not
intentional. As a first time user I simply thought that I
had done something wrong. Thanks for the advice. I shall
check forthwith.

Hi, Allen.

Apology not really required. ;<)

We were all newbies not so long ago, but some of us have been climbing this
learning curve so long that we've forgotten the way it was. And the
"web-based interface" obscures the true nature of these groups. All that
pretty "eye-candy" makes it seem that we are dealing with The Mighty OZ
here, rather than just "the man behind the curtain" - who is not so
different from ourselves.
