I am using xp professional. I am up loading a large file to a 3rd party (1GB)
and am leaving the system to run overnight (1min per MB). When I return the
connection is broken. I have checked that the windows auto disconnect is not
switched on and I have tested the link on smaller up loads and it worked
fine. The isp allows a lot more than I am uploading even over a short period.
My RAM is 256mb and the processor is 2.6 GH. Any ideas why the disconnect
and what to do about it? The mail service I am using is Yousendit.

Does your mail service have a limit on the size of the file you may send? I
notice that you say that the isp allows.... some will limit individual file
sizes to less than this amount (1 GB). Also, if their mailbox is nearly
full the upload may fail.

You may be successful by splitting the file into pieces, uploading each
individual piece and then having the files recombined at the other end.

I use the dos version of RZSplit but the windows version can be trial
downloaded here http://www.killersoftware.com/rzsplit.html
