Everybody seems pleased with the fact that the functionality for creating
MAPI profiles for use with Outlook 2002/2003 has been moved from the
separate NewProf.exe (as was the case with Outlook 98/2000) to Outlook
itself, but nobody points out that it is apparently no longer possible to
pre-create a MAPI profile without actually starting Outlook (as one might
want to do from a logon script, for example).
Is there in fact a way to auto-create a MAPI profile *without* leaving
Outlook running (like a "create profile and exit" feature)?
Jacques.
PS: I can think of at least two situations where this feature might be
necessary: (a) Creating a MAPI profile as a part of a script that then goes
on to customize the profile by direct manipulatoin of the Registry, and (b)
Creating a profile for use by some MAPI-enabled application that invokes
Outlook "under the covers".
