auto-correct an english word

I am having a problem with auto-correct not changing a word, when I set it up
in the auto-correction screen. Like I want the word "ban" changed to
"account", but since outlook recognizes "ban" as an english word it never
checks the customer dictionary. I know there is a box that I can click to
turn this off but I can never find it. Can someone help me please.

The autocorrections are not store in the "customer dictionary". I just
tried exactly what you describe and the word "ban" was replaced with the
word "account" every single time.
