The name cache purges when Outlook 2003 is closed. The name cache is
populated and is not at the capacity of 1000 names. This is a new
installation of Outlook 2003. After Outlook is closed, the *.nk2 files
disappears. Any assistance?

Was it a new profile? did you try deleting it yourself and see is the new
one works better? Is outlook closing properly? (look in task manager)

Yes. I deleted the profile and the new profile did not work any better.
Outlook is closing properly. I checked the task manager. My next step is to
uninstall and re-install Outlook. However, I am trying to avoid this step
and I am not convinced that a re-install will correct the problem.

uninstall / reinstall shouldn't make a difference -no more than detect and
repair would, but takes a lot longer.
