Authoritative Restore (Restore Database Command)

When I use the authoritative restore command, then use the restore database
commnad, I get the message "opening DIT database failed to recover database
from external backup. Error 0X2(The system cannot find the specified file)."
I don't understand why I am getting this message. I am followed the
directions. I am attempting disaster recovery on different hardware. I
installed Windows 2000 operating system on the disaster recovery server, then
I installed Veritas Backupexec 9.1, I restored the data, I restored the
system state, and finally I run the authoritative restore command under the
active directory restore mode, which then I get the error message. I don't
understand. What am I missing in this process? Why is this error message
happening? Thank You!

I don't know the answer but...

You might also try a "repair install" -- and then retry the
NTDSUtil (or even repeat the Authoritative Restore) although
it would likely be best if that PRECEDES the repair install:

Original CDROM, Install, same directory, MAKE SURE it
ask if you wish to REPAIR and confirm that.

Update through Windows Update to make sure you get current
hotfixes etc.
