audio playing at fast forward

I recently had some problems after installing sbcyahoo
browser. I have uninstalled it but all my audio is playing
at a fast speed - like it is a 33 lp playing at 45. I have
tried all sorts of updates but can't seem to find the
cause / solution. Any help please?

If you are using Window media player 9
You can control the play speed in Menu - Play -> Play speed this should
work.

if you are having problems only with CD play bac,k you can try
In the option menu goto the "CD Audio" Tab and deselect the "Digital
Playback" option. That should fix your problem

I am having problems with all sound. Even the default
windows start sound scheme is playing fast. Anything that
comes through the speakers is accelerated.

I am having the same problem... Every since my computer
crashed and my IT department had to put in a new
harddrive, the music, no matter if I'm playing music from
online, in my harddrive, or a CD, always plays too fast--
like the chipmunks... If anyone has a solution, please
advise... I'm desperate to hear my songs being held
hostage my my computer...
