Audio input

I have tried to record audio and video from my new HP Media Center computer
using Windows Movie Maker.

While it captures the video using "composite", there is no selection for the
analog audio inputs (red and white wires).

How do I get the audio along with video.

I had already loaded some video footage complete with sound, and wanted to
add some more, but this time when I tried to play it back , the sound had
gone.
I then tried to play back other clips which I had downloaded but the sound
was also missing (I had loaded the clips using firewire from a Digital
Camcorder).
I am wary about installing SP2 as some features of Movie Maker seem to be
affected by the upgrade to SP2.

I'm having the same problem with my HP Media Center. I have a VHS deck
connected to the S-video and the analog audio input ports. I can capture
video, but no audio (I've tried both the front and rear ports - same result)

When I switch to InterVideo WinDVD I can capture the video and audio, but
when I try to import the video clip, which is *.mpg into MM2 it only finds
the audio! The clip shows to be a video clip but when I drag it to the
timeline only audio shows up. Very frustrating.

Any solutions yet?

SAME HERE!!! I have HP Media Center PC (m1095c from Samsclub) Video
capture is fine, but I have NO Audio when using Windows Movie Maker. Also NO
audio with Roxio Easy Media Center.

However, just like the last guy... "When I switch to InterVideo WinDVD I can
capture both video AND AUDIO"

I'm sending analog video to the S-video connector (both front and back work
fine) and analog audio to the white connector (both front and back work with
Intervideo, but not with Windows Movie Maker or Roxio Easy Media Center.

HP Tech support was no help at all.

Any ideas???

Hi,

I have the same issue with a MediaCenter PC. Mine has a conexant card and in
Arcsoft showbiz it can import both video and audit (distorted as it's unable
to convert from PAL) - It identifies the conexant card as input for both
video and audio. When trying to record audio only - Showbiz only gives the
option of Realtek AC97 and is unable to record any sounds.

In MovieMaker it get the video over the conexant cart with no problem
(s-video link), but am unable to capture the audio over the Realtek AC97.
HELP - PLEASE!
