audio from media player

all installed fine but........
when playing cd the vocals and music sound like a chipmunk
tried altering all sound effects and this does not cure problem
any ideas please help

Typical cause is that the incorrect driver for the Audio hardware
(soundcard) was used/installed during the re-installation of Windows.
The fix is to install the correct one by using the cd that came with the
soundcard or motherboard or downloading the most current one from the
hardware manufacturers website.
