Audio clips of dying HDDs?

This is probably old news. Digg mentions a Hitachi Web page on

Are there more of these? It is funny that I don't hear these noises on
my past dying HDDs. I guess my analog hearing aid picks up the fans too
much. :(

Yeah, there are more around somewhere, didnt bother to keep track of them tho.
It is funny that I don't hear these noises on my past dying HDDs.

Yeah, some drives recalibrate much more quietly than that and
if the logic card is dead, they are completely silent, silly |=)
