Audigy2 game-port kaput

I've recently installed an Audigy2 card into my computer (Asus A7N8X). It
installed just fine, but it doesn't seem to want to install the software
for the game-port. It recognizes that the game port exists, but when try to
install the drivers from the CD it fails with "access denied." I have
Windows XP (sp-1) and am logged in as an administrator.

It's not a big deal since I'm not currently using that port, but it's just
sort of annoying that it doesn't work. Everything else seems to be
functioning correctly.

Thanks.

This should explain it:

After fiddling with it this afternoon, I finally got it to function. I
installed the latest Creative update and it just worked. I had the on-board
game port disabled, so there shouldn't have been a conflict.

Apparently whatever conflict's previously existed, have now been fixed.

Interesting. Because at the time that the Q&A was written, disabling the
onboard gameport what not an option. Otherwise, Asus would have suggested
it and the places that I originally read of the problem would have just been
mentioned it as a sidenote. Nvidia has updated the nforce2 chipset since
the first revision of the A7N8X and this must have been one of the fixes.

I'm using the newest BIOS (1007) on my Deluxe board (1.04). So, it's not a
new board (1 year old). The BIOS must have been changed to fix this problem
since the Q&A was written. All I can say is that it does work, assuming you
use the latest Creative drivers.
