attempting to reistall ie6 iwirh no success

IE6 went out of kilter, and i removed it from my WindowsXP Home setup.I
have the original XP Home instillation disk. When I down loade IE6 setup
the fun or great aggravation started.As the instillation proceeded it
stoped. It said to call the administrator because the bleeping microsoft
logo was not on the download from their own bleeping site.I am using
Mazilla for this post. How to hell do restore IE without having to
reinstall XP Home? Incidently i or one family member use this machine,
and there is no 3rd person administrator.
