Attempting to migrate setting and files

When I used the x32 Professional Windows Wizard on the old computer to
transfer files it said it would not work on the x64 because it was made by an
older version wizard.

When I place the x64Windows in the x32Windows I get 'This version of Window
cannot be installed on this machine' (this despite being told to do so in the
x64 Wizard).

I did this because when on the new computer I get to 'Files and Settings
Transfer Wizard' the 'create a Wizard Disk for Windows x32 and x64 is whited
out'. This despite having a rom read/write drive that works. ( I have no
floppy on new computer ).

Additionally I get 'new hardware' gag screens on load up but they are for
not. Inherited errors or incomplete at initial setup.

I am not on the web with new computer cause all the setting are on the old
one.

When I do a direct connect via usb 2 both computers just think new hardware
is there and want to go on the web, but of course it just comes up 'unknown'
for the old computer that can on-line and the new I just make it search
itself.

This circle is maddening. Now I know why there are those who sell programs
to do this. However does anyone know of one could migrate settings and files
from x32 to x64?

The wizard in the x64 says this is possible, transferring files and
settings, but.... I am perplexed and 3 days tired.

Did you look at either of these articles?

Many thanks for both replies !
Sorry about the wrong forum, I thought it was correct.

Are you saying this hotfix does not work? Or works imperfectly?

Kind Regards,

I have no idea if the hotfix works. I've never had to transfer
settings from a 32 bit system to a 64 bit system. I just
remembered seeing that update available on the Windows Update
site so I thought it might be helpful to pass along those
links.

Did you download and install the update on your old computer?
If you're still having problems, check with the 64 bit group.
