Why does outlook sometimes put my attachments inline with my text and
sometimes put it at the bottom of the page in a different pane?

Thanks,

Tom.

Call me dense. I have tried every setting in the options area but I still
cannot get the attachments in incoming email to appear in the body. They are
always above the body next to the word Attachments. I'm using Outlook 2002

Ah, incoming mail is different. You have no control on where attachments are
on incoming mail.

If you are specifically talking about picture attachments in the body of
your mail (like in Outlook Express), Outlook doesn't work that way.
Attachments must be opened separately from the message body unless the
original sender has embedded them, which, as I've said, you have no control
over.

It's not a good idea to use your real address as the sender address for
usenet posting.

When you compose a message in Rich Text format, a format only Outlook can
read, then your attachments will appear in the body of the message, at least
in the compose window.
