Maybe this is a stupid query, but I am using Outlook 2000, and ever
time I try to attach a file, it comes through to the recipient as
Win.Dat file. Is there a way to change this so I can send pictures an
Word documents that are actually retrievable

Use plain text or HTML - Outlook Rich Text Format is the culprit.
