Are attachments that are stored under username/localsettings/temporary
internet files able to be retrieved? I know they are given a temporary name
of "olk...", but I can't figure out how to search for it or to find it in the
folder it should be under. How long does the attachment stay in that folder?

Click Start>Run and enter "%temp%" (without the quotes) in the Run field.
Click OK. You'll get a Windows Explorer window that should contain the
folder list in the left pane. Right below the Temp folder you should see
"Temporary Internet Files". Click the plus sign next to it to expand it and
you should see the OLK subfolder. Click it so see its contents.

It's supposed to go away when Outlook closes. There are some versions of
Outlook with a bug that allows it to remain, but you should NEVER count on
it being there after Outlook closes.
