I am new to Outlook/Exchange.

Anyone know why an attachment that has a long file name is truncated in
Outlook 2003?

For instance, if I have 6 attachments in a new memo:
"New Text Document for Exchange 1"
"New Text Document for Exchange 2"
etc

They all show up in the body as:
"New Text
ument for Exchang"
"New Text
ument for Exchang"
etc

This is confusing for our users.

Any ideas?

Steps to reproduce?

"They all show up in the body as:"
Can I assume you are using Rich Text format? Switch to HTML or Plain Text
instead.

Yes - it has happening using Rich Text only - using HTML the attachment names
appear fine and are in a separate attachment section and not in the body.

So - it looks to me like there is some kind of character limitation for
attachments using the Rich text editor???

steps to reproduce: use Rich text as an email editor and attach a document
that has a long file name.

thanks

Yep, that is correct. Any specific need to use Rich Text format?
