attachment paper clip hard to see

Vista Home Basic and default screen setup

The layout and visibility of the message screen is acceptable except for the
visibility of the attachment paper clip icon. It is very washed out and
difficult to see against the background. Is there something I can change to
improve the contrast on this?

This is the only program where I have any viewing problems.

Oh, I have lots of other visibility complaints. The programming teams say
that the colors and shades were dictated to them by the design teams and
they can't 'fix' them.

As an electronics design engineer myself, I quite understand how marketing
dictates distinctive changes from last generation in order to create a new
product identity. That said, I think it sucks and hope that once the initial
hype is over, that more logical minds will win out. Vista has been out
roughly a year and it is about time to make some official fixes (not the
least of which is using zip folders to unzip a file - taking 15 minutes
where winzip or winrar does it in about one second).

One would question that since we were given the option of using 'clasic
menus', why then can't we get classic OE color schemes that don't cause us
to miss seeing an attachment?

//end of rant//
Ok, I feel much better having vented <grin>
