attach to win2k share

Hello, I hope someone can help with this simple request. I am not very Mac
literate.

I want to set up an icon on a shared OS X machine that points to a share on
a Win2k server. When the icon is clicked, I would like the user to be
prompted for his win2k credentials, and then the folder opens. Is there a
simple way to do this?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Tim!

What you're describing is an "alias", which is the Mac equivalent of a
Windows "shortcut".

To create an alias of anything on a Mac, simply Option + Command + drag the
icon to the location you want the alias to appear and release.

Hope this helps! bill
