I was hit by this atmclk.exe, plz guys help me, but read carefully b4 U
post your tips. I cannot get online scan bcoz it does not let IE work.
I also cannot run any outside cleaning software like from floppy or CD
bcoz it cancelled my drives except the C hard disk. The only way I can
is go into sfate mode with command prompt. plz can U tell me how to
disable it from there. I am really in a mess.

have you tried tried setting you cmos/bios to boot from the cd? if you do,
you will have access to the cd whereas you can either run windows setup,
install new, then select the repair option when advised. or you can use the
cddrive to run an antivirus or something. but if you get back to an
operational windows mode, you can download another browser like the avant
browser, so that you don't have to use the ie browser or run your antivirus,
antispyware, windows defender, etc....

ps: before you reinstall the windows as suggested, got into startup > run >
msconfig. disable "all" your startups. it is likely that you malicious exe
file has set itself up to launch. in fact, you should do a reboot after
disabling the startups to see if you have more control over windows. if not
and you are still in a bind, then i would proceed with the suggestins in the
prior msg...

well guys, thanks 4 Ur suggestions.
I did try 2 set boot from CD, but it did not work...the computer
behaves as if there is no CD drive.
Then I also tried msconfig, still did not work coz the atmclk.exe does
not show itself, but keeps running.

I will anyhow, take the hard drive out, connect it as a second drive
into a healthy, well protected computer, try 2 kill the virus there..

shall try it tomorrow and keep U updated....

Shalom

OK dudes..here is the last of it:
I borrowed a convereter wallet, that converts the laptop Hard disk into
USB connect.
then I took my hard out from the infected laptop, put it inside that
wallet, then connected it as an external drive to my desktop.
From there, I burned the important files on a CD, then I formatted the
hard drive twice.

Then I installed it bck into the laptop, and installed WinXp again.

Now running well, but slow to boot and close...also slow to surf the
net....

Thanks 4 all of U guys, u were such good help

God bless
