I am running an Athlon 1.2g CPU with an Asus A7V motherboard and an ATI
Radeon 64mb TIVO DDR video card and 256meg ram.
I have just upgraded to Windows XP and am having trouble with the capture
card.
I am running the catalyst 3.1 drivers for the driver, control panel and ATI
Multimedia Centre 7.0

I can start recording video/TV with the capture card and it records great
with no dropped frames, HOWEVER as soon as I stop the recording the screen
and program FREEZES and wont go to the next stage where I choose a filename
for the video capture and store it on my hard disk.

has anyone else had this problem and if so can someone please advise me how
to fix this problem ?

I never had this problem with Windows ME or Windows 98 :-(

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried installing the latest version of all necessary software and
the latest drivers ?

Win98 and ME: crap !

Do you know this site:

http://www.atitech.com/support/driver.html

that will lead you to catalyst 3.9 and Multimediacenter 8.7

Directx update before should be required.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx?url=/windows/directx/downloads/default.htm

9.0b

And before that: update with SP1 for windows XP. Windows update in
browser.

best regards

John

Capture problems with MMC 7.0 is a WinXP problem. I agree with JK: 98/ME are
crap ... I would recommend either downloading all the updates listed below
(nice and easy) or picking yourself up a copy of Win2000.

I'll order 8.1 so I can upgrade to 8.7 and install all the latest drivers
and see if that works with ATI Radeon 64mb DDR VIVO capture card then guys
Thanks

I'm running WIN XP pro with 512 megs ram and an ATI 7500 All-in-one.

Your problem is with the ATI card not the ASUS m/b.

I have an ASUS a7V333 m/b. Every I turn off the TV, when watching TV, the
window never closes. Furthermore, I can not even control, at, del, to get
it to stop.

you got to love this business.

Keep your OS ..... Update the VIA 4 in 1's capture problems can most times be connected to the capture driver installed. I would
clean out the device manager from 'safe mode' removing all unrelated hardware or duplicates. Getting your system back to 'standard
VGA display adapter would be preferred. remove software from add/remove. Check c:/windows/INF +/other(hidden attributes, folder
options to change) for any other driver version/unrelated video INF files that are trying to load.
